Basically, from what I can tell, LA=Grenth, while Kamadan=Dwayna.

Some people seem to go that way, but that is a stupid system, since it makes it hard for people with only Proph or only NF to get both hats. Odd/even is, as always, the superior system.

I saw that, it was a halo (actually there were two where I was) that had dropped due to a full inventory.

Mm, it's entirely possible that a few snide comments have made us over-estimate the amount of trolls/d-bags.
Outpost arrivals/AFKers and plain old newbies who don't know what the heck is going on (we have a lot this year, due to GW2 demos/HoM Calculator) are probably what caused a lot of irregularity. As the event goes on, and people learn what to do, I'm seeing more uniformity in following tradition.
That said, I got to thinking about the people who, for one reason or another, can't be stuck to their computers for 6 hours to change districts, and can only stay logged in AFK. It would be awesome if a few districts could coordinate as they did in some outposts earlier, to have some hours be Grenth hours, while the others were Dwayna hours. But that would require some massive effort to organize (alliances would probably have to sponsor, as with CNY). I just can't see it being successful.... Just hope those who were in the position of not being able to move lucked in to a "chaotic" district during the first few rounds.

This was pretty much what I was thinking earlier when I mused over the reasoning behind the even/odd tradition (note at no point have I ever stated that it's a "rule").
Also to the guy earlier, I see nothing wrong with reporting someone for calling me an inbred autistic retard when I simply questioned why the district I was in, and so many others, weren't following the old way. I was trying to get some insight as to why things were so disorganised this year and was met with a hail of abuse from one guy in particular. I can see how that's SO wrong of me and I TOTALLY should have accepted what he said because he had EVERY RIGHT to say that to me -rolls eyes-

Star, Nice idea about changing the zone to be part dwayna and part grenth. But wouldnt matter to the AFKers, because they would be standing on the wrong rings if the switch was made. Meaning they wouldnt get the opposite hat.
This system has been in place since the 2nd xmas when you had to get 4 different hats. It has always worked and been the easiest solution so everyone could get them all.

It was chaos in several of the districts I was in with one actually having a pretty close race down to the end.
However, once I got both hats, I didn't care who won, I just wanted more presents. I have a feeling that a number of people were afk in districts just to get free presents since they can use them to get cc shards and use the trader after the event for hats.
That is assuming they have a hat trader once again this year.

YOU have a good reason to report, some ppl dont have, they just report because they "dont follow Odd/Even" system, and if you agree this is not a good reason to report. This is why i said i hope ppl that easy report get what they deserve.(and this is the same for all ppl i RA or other areas)
Btw, i know that only america is in chaos and all other district work as they must work (odd/even)....
I wrote just to say to not make a dramma for everything, this thread is supposed to not exist, you just need go german/italy/english/polish/russian or asian or international to get both hat...dont need to have all games too.

And yet all the complaing becomes irrelevant now that we have the Wintersday Hat Giver.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Wintersday_Hat_Giver
So maybe we can all enjoy the Dwayna vs Grenth mini game without being called douche bags and trolls because we don't do what you want us to do?
If you want both hats so badly either find a district of like minded individuals or trade your shards for them.
